RENAL TRANSPLANTATION Vs HOME HEMODIALYSIS    Renal transplants can last successfully for several years. If renal transplantation fails, due to any reason at all, the choice is limited to having re-transplantation or resort to long term hemodialysis. Since ‘cadaver kidney transplant’ is not widely available yet in India, the chances of getting re-transplant does not exist.     If ‘ESRD’ patients are able to have the ‘HD’ successfully in their own home surroundings, the change in their lives they achieve is incomparable. The results are far better than that can be achieved with thrice-weekly Hemodialysis in a hospital dialysis centre. The freedom that can be achieved with successful Home Based Hemodialysis Program, is very valuable.
